How I Add Value

Coaching Style:

As a neurologist, I have always been fascinated by the brain. The  brain is the most powerful organ we have. It creates our thoughts, which drives our feelings, and actions and create the results we have in our lives. In my coaching, I utilize cognitive behavior coaching to help my clients gain awareness of their thoughts and beliefs. Together, we work on unpacking these beliefs to decide if they are serving them or not. If they do not serve them, we work on reframing them.

In addition to  cognitive behavioral coaching, I utilize a combination of positive psychology coaching and solution focused coaching to help my clients enjoy the life they created and to reach their goals.

Training

I utilize my unique dual training as a life coach (certified through the Life Coach School) and a leadership coach (certified through the Organizational and Leadership Coaching certificate offered by Northwestern University) to help my clients with their personal and professional lives. I strongly believe that our lives are integrated and focusing only on leadership/work without also addressing our personal struggle is less than ideal.

How I help:

I coach physicians and leaders in the healthcare to help them create an intentional culture of psychological safety. My goal is to help leaders create a culture free of burnout and to help physicians thrive in their fields. As a triple boarded practicing physician, I am intimately familiar with the drivers of burn out and I can relate to the day to day struggles physicians experience. In addition to my training as a life coach and a leadership coach, I am also trained as a scholar of wellness through Northwestern University. My training focused on identifying the driver of burn out and on utilizing the DMAIC method (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) to create wellness intervention to address these drivers.

Coach-Client Relationship:

With my patient-doctor relationships, collaboration and trust ensures that my patients feel free to challenge my recommendations, to ask questions and to be honest with me. This open communication helps me understand their point of view and helps me tailor treatments to their specific needs. Similarly, with my coaching clients, establishing a collaborative relationship is key. The one assumption I always make about my clients is that they know what is best for them and that they have all the answers. My job is to collaborate with them and help guide them to self-discovery rather than to provide them with solutions. I realized that it is a slippery slope when I think I know what is best for them and thus collaboration is key.  Through collaborative sessions and humble inquiry, I help my clients achieve their goals and move forward to create the outcomes they want in their lives.
